Two Tunnels Greenway

Starting from East Twerton, this path follows the disused railway trackbed of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway through the Bath suburb of Oldfield Park to the Devonshire Tunnel. It emerges into Lyncombe Vale before entering the Combe Down Tunnel and then coming out to cross Tucking Mill Viaduct at Tucking Mill into Midford. Known locally as the Two Tunnels Greenway, it forms part of the Sustrans Route 244 and is an excellent cycling or walking route into the surrounding countryside of Bath.

At 1672 metres Combe Down is the longest traffic-free cycling tunnel in Europe. Travelling through the Combe Down to Tunnel, you will experience an extraordinary audio-visual installation, Passage by United Visual Artists.

Both tunnels are well lit, have a sealed surface and are wide enough for pedestrians and cyclists to comfortably use the route in harmony.
